Old is Gold!

When there is one son in the family,he is loved by his parents.When the second child is born,love is shared.What if the third comes?It gets divided.Most of the readers may not agree to it,you will agree that out of the three,somebody do not get the opportunities they deserve.It would be silly if they think about the fourth or fifth.
As a child,I developed interest in sports particularly cricket.I also liked lawn tennis and Indian Hockey.As the time passed,my interest in hockey reduced.I liked the likes of Dhanraj Pillay,Mukesh,Pargat Singh,the others name I can not recall.Arantxa Sanchez Vicario was my favourite female tennis player and I liked Leander Paes and Pete Sampras then.When I went to the college,football was another addition to my interests.What I like about most of the games is that they have remained same ever since and there is no change in the format.But cricket has.
It all started with Test Cricket.Then came ODI, One Day Internationals.T-20 came in the last decade.Think of some great cricketers.Give it a thought.I guess all the cricketers which are coming in your mind are Test Cricketers.The likes of Ricky Ponting who is argubly ,one of the best Test and ODI cricketers, has not been able to replicate the things in T-20 cricket.Even Michael Clarke who is good at the test and ODI has not performed in the T-20.SRT choose to play only test and ODI and he do not playT-20Ineternationals. Though SRT and Kallis and to some extent Rahul Dravid performed well in this IPL3.But other way round,3 seasons of IPL is over,how many T-20 players have gone to play test cricket and have established themselves?Yusuf Pathan of India who is one of the dangerous player has sadly not performed for India,though in my view,he could have been better utilized by MSD.None the less,the opportunities which he got has not been made to the fullest.He has won many matches for the Royals single handedly but not replicated for India in ODI format.And he never got a chance to play test cricket.So is the case with many others.
In my opinion, if cricket is considered as mother and the three formats as her kids,T-20 is the most notorious kid. And believe me he can ruin the family.The big brother 'Test' is the most disciplined of the three.What T-20 has done in the family?Since T-20 is born,the middle brother ODI has been overlooked. The interests of the public has deteriorated due to the advent of T-20.Though the test cricket has not been badly affected it will surely if the administrators will think of the fourth son.Yes, fourth son.Cricket Australia is planning to introduce a new format.A 40 over format where there will be two innings a side with 20 overs each.Sounds interesting. Some are thinking of the idea to break the 50 overs format into 2 innings. Again it sounds interesting.But,but..but what? What it will bring? A hybrid format where 2 innings concept is from test cricket,2 times 20 or 25 overs is the T-20 concept and adding those 20-25 overs add to 40-50 overs is a 50 overs concept. Let me tell you, a 10-12 megapixel digital camera is always better than a 10-12megapixel mobile camera.Test cricket is always better than the new concept of two innings where 40 overs are played by breaking them into 20-20 four times,2 times by each side.
The ODI has taken a setback with advent of T-20. But if ODI is changed into two innings concept the originality of ODI will be no more. The ODI format whose health is bad will die and this will affect "Test".Am I sounding silly? Yes,bringing the fourth son in the family will affect the family.
If the fourth concept is played then the "so called boring overs" of ODI will be no more.Batsman will come in 2 innings,each batsman will have 2 innings,which will bring run-fest.Thus, there will be no construction of innings and batsman will be hitting as if every ball is last ball.These things will deteriorate the quality of batsmen just like the T-20 has done. They all are hitting ball all over the park, but they don't make it to the test side.The best of T-20 batsmen has not established themselves into test side.Thus when the present set of players who are playing test cricket in the national side,retires then I am sure the quality of test players will deteriorate and may be as the idea of changing 50 over format is coming,who knows they might kill big brother?
What IPL has given us? Not a single player who can play test cricket.But has resulted in lots of profit making and corruption.So my dear administrators bring any format but let that format be cousin. Play that format very rarely.Not more than once or twice for each country.Control the naughty T-20 cricket which has bad impact on young crickets with the money it brings and the deterioration in the quality of batsmen.At the same time no great bowlers will come since batsmen will always be in the mood to hit them out of the park.Preserve test cricket and ODI, control T-20 and please think of the outcomes if the 4th or 5th concept is brought in.It will kill Test and ODI and Cricket itself.Stop the business and lets play cricket.Match On!! Play Gentleman!!

Procrastination

A coin has two sides. A thief is not always bad. A policeman is not always good.I have always believed that just like the persons, a bad word is not always bad. In fact the word bad is always not bad.I ll tell you how. A bad odour of the gas in the kitchen identifies the gas leakage.Thus, saving life of the people.So, Is Procrastination is bad or good?Lets see.
By etymology, procrastination i s made from 2 words procrastinatus: pro- (forward) and crastinus (of tomorrow).Thus it means, delaying of the things or the work.So by simple meaning people may thing that delaying of the work is bad.But is it realy bad? I don't think so. I have a feeling that delaying things to some later time is not bad because every work depends on the state of mind.
Do you remember Einstien who was dumb(as it was thought) in his childhood days? But the things which he did later is remarkable.Procrastination prevents burnout. People should also take rest so that the things can be done slowly to get it perfectly done.Some unknown author said-The two rules of procrastination: 1) Do it today. 2) Tomorrow will be today tomorrow.
By procrastinating you give yourself much more time to think. During this time your subconscious will be processing possible alternatives, leading to a much more considered and well thought out solution to your problem. Rushing leads to mistakes!

Accident

Accidents are not always bad.Are they? They are good sometimes in a way.This you will realize only when you ll meet him. An accident which takes may be 20days or a month to recover can teach him a lot.An accident can be a blessing in disguise if you come out of it after some 20 or 30 days of pain and eventually it can give you some gain.My points are pretty simple.

People in daily life are so busy that they do not know what they are doing. They just do the things because they just need to be done.But an accident makes a fast life, a slow one.So how a slow life can help a man who met with an accident? It gives the man ample time to think about himself,his mistakes ,his directions, his behaviour and they can work upon it for a better life. People in a fast life tend to forget the way of living.Living is not about money making and living is not about being satisfied at a point of time.Its just that people have to make a perfect balance between a professional and personal life. Both life comprehend each other. When people are happy and their relations with the family members and friends are good, they work in a better way.A highly ambitious man starts working in a nice way just because his personal things and personal things are at the right track. The people who do not have best of economic conditions also get through a nice path because of the determinations, but I am sure ,even those men will have someone behind them, may be the strength of his parents, may be some appreciations which they get by the people around them.But when a man gets into the job and starts making money and when the business grows fast, they tend to forget people around.They do not give time to their loved ones.They do not think much about the mistakes which they make regularly.So according to me, when a man meets with an accident becomes dependent on their loved one which give him ample time to think about the relations and mistakes, which can be worked out, which will help him to be better next time

Dream come true! When he tweeted me! And I was playing a shootout round in Zynga Poker, I had 6500 and the other guy had 2500.I was confident to win it to enter the round 2.Then I went to another tab to see twitter page.The Amitabh Bachchan pic was on my profile.And I was out of ma mind. We want worldcup 2011!

On every match day, I keep my money on Indian cricket team.I always feel that India will win the match.50% of the time, I am wrong.I pray to the god," please bhagwan aaj India ko jeeta dena,tendulkar centuary mar de to maja aa jayga". In 1992, my papa used to wake me up for the world cup matches.I remember the dark blue dress which India used then.It had some strips on the shoulder,I don't remember the color.The then Indian team had srikant, who is now a selector.I don't remember any of the matches though.It all started from then only.Love for the game,love for team India and love for the little man.

Between the span of 4 years, when the world cup was co-hosted by India,Pakistan and Srilanka, I remember few magical moments in the Indian cricket.First one which I still remember is Sachin Tendulkar getting 80 odd runs of 49balls vs NZ. You may not find it an amazing fact but let me tell you guys,it was the first time Tendulkar opened for India. Guess what? We got an opener.Till that date, tendulkar's highest score was 84 which he was not able to cross.Kambli had 1 centuary under his belt.Prior to the match,Tendulkar had asked the then captain Azhar that he want to open for India and if he fails he will return to the middle order.The second thing which I remember was again the performance by the genius but this time not with the bat. Correct me if I am wrong,I guess it was hero cup semifinal match vs South Africa where they needed 6 of the last over.Mr.Azhar was out of clues and he handed the ball to the legend,Kapil Dev.He handed the ball to Sachin. When the ball was given to him, the stadium was buzzing with the sound,"Twinkle twinkle little star,Sachin is a super star".And like the bollywood movie we won.SA could not manage the 5 runs for the draw,6 was always going to be difficult, :).In the same tournament Anil kumble took 6 wickets for 12 runs,vs WI, which was herocup final 1993.

Then came the world cup 1996.In every world cup why I feel that India will get the cup.Contrary to the match % where 50% of the time I am correct, my record for the world cup prediction is 0% because I have always supported India blindly.Tendulkar played the world superbly along with Mark Waugh,who both were at 1st and 2nd positions in terms of highest runs,respectively.The little master belted 523runs and the Junior Waugh managed 484runs. The later scored 0 in the finals.But the world cup will be remembered for the magic of Jayasuriya and Kaluwitharna who used the fileding restrictions.It was a change which the world was seeing.Srilanka defeated Australia and they were champions of the world.A new champions which the world was seeing.The world cup changed the scenario of Srilankan Cricket.Captain Ranatunga and Coach Whatmore duo was unstoppable.

When the worldcup 99 came,we were a better team than earlier teams and the world cup returned to the country where it all started.England.We had some young players with the likes of saurav and dravid.Mind you Dravid was very important, as the ball swings in England and yes he scored 461 runs,highest in that worldcup with not a bad strike rate.This time Tendulkar was used as a middle order batsman. He opened in some of the matches.The first match was against the africans which we lost.Then came the sad news.Mr.Ramesh Tendulkar passed away.Sachin left, and India was meeting Zimbabwe. And again we lost by 3 runs. India were supposed to score 7 runs from the 10 balls , 3 wickets left, Robin singh, the only recognized batsman.Henry Olonga came and India went.For the first time I slept without due to a match.It was unbelivable for me and for the rest of India.India had to win 3 out of 3 which they managed to reach the super 6 stage,they did it in style.Sachin returned and scored 140 vs Kenya and Rahul managed 104 , both not outs. Then they overhauled the lankans scoring 373 on 26 may 99,at tauntan,Ganguly scored 183 and supassed Kapil Dev and Rahul scored 145 not out.India were out of sorts in the super 6 stage and Australia became champions.

4 years passed again and the 10th board came. And the world cup.And the best Indian team. And again I thought,this time its ours. India lost 2 matches both against aussies. In both matches, 125 was the magical figure.The first match we lost to Australia, where we batted first. We managed 125.They surpassed it. During the world cup, a thought came to my mind, when the next worldcup will start I ll be in IIT.That is not important.I just mentioned it that I realy like worldcup and I wish to book a ticket ofr the world cup final with hopefully,India will win.Retuning to the final match, just after the last board exam of 10th, the australians scored 359 and we were 125 sort of their score.I stopped watching cricket for some time.

When the world cup came again after 4 years I was in MIT,not in IIT,not in Masachusetts,but in Manipal.Manipal rocks.We all know what happened in that world cup.Bangladesh outclassed India,India outclassed Bermuda(I like to wear the other Bermuda) and Srilanka defeated us.Srilanka and Bangladesh marched forward,we marched India.What happened there after in the cup, I have no clue but the Australians( I hate them) won again.

And yet again she is coming.I am mentioning the world cup as " she".Please do not ask why.9 months left when the drama will start.But for the first time I have a feeling, India will not win the world cup. And what I say in world cup is never right. My head says we are not winning this time,though again the team will be better than the rest of the world cups, heart as always says, common India,dikha do.Last 3 world cup has seen super 6s and super 8s but the format is returning to the old format where the winner of this world cup has to win 3 matches in a row, the qaurters , the semis and the final.14 teams are participating in this world cup where there are 6 minnows.Each group have 7 teams each, out of which 3 are minnows.4 will qualify for the quarter finals from each group.I am sure the minnows will not make a cut to the last 4 from their group even if they outclass one of the giants because the giant will recover from the rest of matches.If one of the giant will be defeated twice, then their is possibiilty of one of the minnow to make the cut, the minnow who will be the giant among the 3 minnows.1 win against a giant may result in same points but they will have better run rate.So, in my opinion this format is absurd because the qaurter finalists are decided long before the matches will be played.Thus 42 matches will be played to decide the qaurter finalists. This worldcup to me is a Champions trophy,the mini worldcup,where the players will get tired before the last 7 seven matches.The month of march will be hot for sure and the spectators will have a tough time.India have Bangladesh,England,Ireland,South Africa,Netherlands and West Indies. The other group consists of Australia,Pakistan,Newzealand,Srilanka,Zimbabwe,Kenya and Canada.I guess India will top the group or they will be finish 2nd. India are more likely to finish 1st because their is no Australia in the group,mind you , the Australians have performed in the recent ODIs in India and their team will not see much of a difference when they come to India and the other 2 subcontinents giants are not there.In the other group I sense that Australia will top, If that does not happens Srilanka will be my second bet.We are in group B. So the first quarter final will be played between Australia and the 4th team from group B,may be England or West Indies.If India tops the group they are likely to play Newzealand. And I think India will win against them.The game is in ahemedabad. The only quarter final in India.This will result in an India vs Australia Semifinal. But if for some reasons India finishes 2nd in their group,they will play Pakistan in Semifinal in Mirpur( group A(3) vs group B(2) ). We have not lost to Pakistan in worldcups. Then India have to meet Srilanka in semi, they are likely to be at number 2 and most likely to defeat england or westindies to meet us in semifinal.If we meet Australians in the semi finals , that may be the end of road.I am saying this because the fatigue factor will come into play the australians are better when it comes to the pressure games.So if India are finished 2nd,it will be blessing for them but ,they are going to finish first,my head says.If India finishes 2nd, South africans will defeat NZ to meet Australia in semifinal, Chance to get the revenge when australians marched to finals by managing a draw in the 99 semifinal,thanks to their earlier victory in the league match or a super six match where herschelle dropped steve waugh. South Africa will then defeat Australia to reach to the finals where India will defeat them to win the world cup.Offcourse India will win against SL in semis to get the revenge of 1996 semifinal.But why my mathematics and my head says India will loose to Australia in the semifinal.To win this world cup, India have to finish 2nd in their group.

The black bitch!

Arohi was doing the daily routine stuff in her home.Her husband Anil was reading newspaper.It is a common scene in Indian houses in the morning time.Aarika,her 2 months baby girl was sleeping in her bed. Since it was a morning time, the temperature was good. But the temperature was hitting high on Celcius scale when the minute hand of the clock made 3-4 rounds..
There was a knock at the door. Arohi opened the door, and it was Radha.Radha was her maid. She was cleaning the floor.She saw the baby girl was smiling.We all love children.The other two things which we all love are flowers and music.Radha looked at Aarika and she lifted her and touched her cheeks.When Arohi came into the room, she got angry.She almost snatched her daughter from Radha.She reminded her that she is just a maid,a low caste girl and warned her not to touch her.The tears started flowing from Radha's eyes.She completed her work and went away.
Arohi's husband went to the work.She got over with her work and then she was with her baby.She was busy with her daughter whole day.Her husband came back at 8 in the evening.Arohi was preparing the dinner.Anil took a shower to fresh himself. He then told that he has booked tickets to go to europe for a month for vacations so that they can be away from the beat of the heat.Arohi started jumping as it was a big surprise for her.She hugged Anil. This was the first chance for Arohi to hit the world outside India.Anil said that they will go after 3 days and he has taken holidays for packing and shopping.
They were done with packing and the day came when they had to leave for the vacations.With all new dresses and stuffs,they were set to hit the world.They were at Delhi Airport.One could easily sense how Arohi was excited about this.Finally they took their seat and for the first time they were in Air.
After 12 hours of journey, they reached Paris.The long journey had no affect on Arohi but Anil was little tired.They took a cab and went to the hotel where there rooom was booked.Arohi was looking outside through the glass and Anil could see happiness on her face.They reached the hotel and went into the room. The view was from the window was wonderful.They could see the greenery all around.They rested for few hours and then went to see the Effiel tower.The scene was amazing.She was looking everywhere.The couple was happy.Suddenly Arohi clashed with another foreign lady.She said to Arohi,"Black bitch does not know how to walk" and she went.Arohi was stunned by the words which she heard.Anil came from the shop and gave her icecream but Arohi's eyes had tear.Anil had no clue what was happening.After knowing,he consoled her and hugged her.
After coming back to India after the long trip of France,UK,Switzerland, they reached their home.But words were still ringing in her ear.Then she was disturbed by the knock of the door on Sunday morning.It was Radha.She smiled and said" How was the journey , madam".Arohi told her that it was fun. Then she told her sorry about the comment she made when Radha had taken her baby.Radha smiled and said,"Its okay".

At 3.31am, when the world is sleeping, I am into another world,world of blogging. This is my first post.I want to pass one message to my readers: Go green and save our planet!!
